Surgery Day
So, the day has finally arrived—you’re getting your new smile! Our team of experts at All In Dental is here to take care of you.
You may have dreamed of this day for years after dealing with dentures or failing teeth, or perhaps you were told by other dentists that you weren’t a suitable candidate for implants. Yet here you are! It can be both daunting and exciting, but knowing what to expect can help you feel more confident and in control of this life-changing moment.
From the moment you arrive, here’s what to expect from your day at All In Dental
Settling In
After you arrive at reception, you’ll immediately be made comfortable in your own private patient suite, which comes with a fully stocked fridge, the latest magazines, and a television.
If you’re bringing someone along for support, they’re welcome to wait there for you throughout the day.
The Day Ahead
Morning
- We ask you to arrive by 8:00 AM so we can welcome you. You’ll be shown to your private patient suite, where your All In Dental nurse will answer any questions you might have about the day.
- Under sedation and pain-free conditions, any remaining teeth will be extracted, and your dental implants will be placed.
- Each jaw takes around two hours to complete.
- This is followed by approximately 30 minutes of bite calculation and impression taking.
Afternoon
- You’ll then return to your patient suite, where you can relax and recover while our on-site lab creates your bespoke initial prosthesis.
Late Afternoon
- Your new “smile in a day” prosthetics will be placed. You’ll leave with your first set of fixed teeth, and return a few weeks later for your final set.

Sedation Options
At All In Dental, we take pride in being welcoming, caring, understanding, professional, and friendly. We’ve helped thousands of people with our treatments over the years and have extensive experience treating patients who feel nervous. We understand—many of our patients have had uncomfortable experiences at the dentist before, and we’re here to help put you at ease.
We work tirelessly to ensure every patient feels relaxed and confident throughout their journey with us. While you may still feel a bit nervous, we’re confident you’ll find the results completely worth it.
For anxious or nervous patients, we offer two types of sedation:
- Oral Sedation – This involves medication dissolved in water, taken before and during the procedure. It’s used alongside a local anesthetic (a needle in the gum).
- Intravenous (IV) Sedation – Administered through a needle in the arm, again in addition to local anesthetic.
Both these options allow you to remain awake and able to communicate with the clinicians. Our All In DentalSolution™ is a precise, meticulous process that relies on patient cooperation for optimal implant placement, bite registration, and prosthesis fitting. These sedation methods often create an amnesic effect, meaning you may have a partial or total memory gap of the procedure—even though you’ll be able to interact with our team during it.
How your All In DentalSolution™ Smile in a Day is created in our in-house labs while you wait
Many of our patients are amazed to learn that their dental implants are milled from start to finish on the same day as their surgery. The reality is that, unlike many other dental clinics, we specialize exclusively in full-mouth, Smile in a Day dental implants—and have done so since 2007.
We’ve developed a unique set of techniques and processes that allow us to complete this work in our on-site labs at each of our clinics. Because it’s all we do, day in and day out, it’s fair to say we’re true experts in the field.

The simple answer is ‘no’, it shouldn’t be. We believe in total pain management and carry out the surgical procedure under local anaesthetic. As with all extensive dental treatments, some patients will experience post-operative tenderness in the mouth and mild swelling for a few days after the procedure – but this is completely notmal. Full pre and post-operative medications and instructions are provided by our clinical team to help with any discomfort.
Please talk to us about any concerns you have. We pride ourselves on being welcoming, caring, understanding, non-judgmental, professional, and extremely friendly.
However, for those patients who are phobic we suggest you consider attending Dental Hospital as specifically trained to help. For patients who are anxious or nervous we offer two types of sedation:
- Oral Sedation – This is medication dissolved in water taken before and during the procedure. This can be used in addition to local (needle in gum) anaesthetic.
- Intravenous Sedation (IV) – This is via a needle in the arm, again this is in an addition to local (needle in gum) anaesthetic.
Both these options allow the patient to be awake and able to communicate with the clinicians. The EvoSolutionTM is a precise and exacting process, where patient cooperation is essential for optimal precision implant placement, bite record taking and the prosthesis placement.
Both options also create a amnesic effect where the patient may experience a partial or total loss of the procedure, even though during they are able to communicate.
We do not provide general anaesthetic sedation for the EvoSolutionTM for good reason:
- General Dental Council advice at the moment advises General Anaesthetic should only be available in a hospital and at EvoDental we agree.
Although we can reassure and talk you through every step of the process and have many years of experience in helping nervous patients through our procedure, EvoSolutionTM is not designed for people with severe dental phobias such as sever needle phobia (not needle anxiety), severe gag reflex (associated with taking moulds of the mouth). We understand that for certain patients a general anaesthetic is essential for them to ‘get through’ this procedure. There are clinics that perform procedures where general anaesthetic is used, but we do not.
Immediately after receiving your fixed teeth prosthesis, you can eat all foods which can easily be cut with a fork. Chewing forces should be kept relatively gentle in the first 4 months following surgery to allow your jawbone to bond firmly with the implants. Once we have done our final checks at 6 months after implant placement and we are sure your implants have fully integrated with your jawbone, you may move on to more adventurous foods like chewing steaks and biting apples! Our food recommendations for the first 4 months include fish, chicken, pasta, chips, mashed and boiled potatoes, and eggs. Your Evo team will give you specific instructions for your case.
