All In Dental Lab Process

How do on-site labs help?

Most dental clinics offering treatments similar in concept to All In Dental’s smile-in-a-day approach rely on external labs for their services. As a result, patients often have to wait several weeks between their surgery day and receiving their new set of teeth—usually wearing dentures in the meantime.

To eliminate this wait, each All In Dental clinic is purpose-built with a dedicated on-site dental laboratory. Equipped with state-of-the-art CAD/CAM computers, advanced milling machines, and a team of devoted experts, our labs ensure that each patient receives the highest quality treatment in the shortest possible timeframe.

Step 1 – Initial Consultation and Planning

When a patient visits All In Dental for their free, 90-minute consultation, part of the process involves taking a CBCT X-ray scan of their mouth. After that, patients spend time talking with the clinician about their medical history, unique circumstances, and how they would like their new teeth to look. This open conversation is designed to put patients at ease—particularly those who are feeling nervous.

Many of our patients comment that this level of transparency and communication makes them feel All In Dental is one of the best places to get dental implants, which they often mention in their feedback and reviews.

Using the information gathered, our dental technicians begin designing the patient’s new prosthesis. The accuracy of the CBCT scan, coupled with the team’s experience, ensures this is done meticulously. During this time, the patient can continue their daily life while preparing for the surgery day—and they are welcome to contact All In Dental at any point with any questions.

Once the initial design is refined and ready, the clinical and technical teams hold a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meeting. During this meeting, the clinicians and technicians review all the information and make any final adjustments to the prosthesis design before the surgery date. Because each prosthesis is entirely bespoke and unique to the individual, these final refinements are crucial.

At the MDT, the locations where the patient’s dental implants will be placed are planned and confirmed—ensuring both accuracy and the best possible outcome. By the end of this process, everything has been thoroughly prepared, with every member of our team knowing exactly what will happen on the day of the surgery.

Step 2 – Day of Surgery and Manufacturing the Prosthesis

When your surgery day arrives, any damaged or failing teeth are removed, and your new implants are placed—all within a few hours in the morning. Part of the procedure involves taking scans of the final implant placement using a technique called photogrammetry. This method uses a specialized, highly accurate scanner to create a digital impression of where the implants sit in your mouth.

Our technical team then immediately compares these scans with the CBCT X-ray taken during your initial consultation, overlaying the final implant placements with the original plan. If any adjustments are needed at this point, they’re made right away. Thanks to careful planning, any such changes are typically minimal, and the combination of pre- and post-surgery scans allows us to design a perfectly fitting prosthesis.

Immediately after surgery, the clinician who performed the procedure consults with the technical team to review the final prosthesis design before manufacturing begins. This saves time and ensures your prosthesis fits as well as possible right away, reducing the likelihood of future modifications.

As an advanced alternative to treatments like All-on-4 dental implants, each of our labs at All In Dental is equipped with state-of-the-art milling machines. These machines can produce a fully customized set of prosthetic teeth in just a few hours. The precise scans, thorough design, and cutting-edge milling capabilities mean that on the very day of surgery, you’ll receive a prosthesis that immediately benefits you.

We strive to provide patients with the best possible dental implants, and we have carefully optimized, enhanced, and refined our process to ensure excellent results. The prosthesis is crafted from a medical-grade polymer—PMMA (poly-methyl-methacrylate)—which is strong, durable, lightweight, and looks and feels natural. Once fitted onto the dental implants placed earlier that day, you’ll have a fully functional set of teeth and an instantly transformed smile.

Step 3 – Finishing Touches and Fitting

Up to this point, the entire manufacturing process has taken place in our digital lab. After the short time required to mill your prosthesis at All In Dental, it moves to what we call our analogue lab. This is where our skilled technicians bring your prosthetic teeth to life—layering gum tissue, polishing, and refining the prosthesis to ensure it looks just like natural teeth.

Next, our technicians perform final quality and fit checks to confirm that everything is perfect, before taking the prosthesis into the treatment room, where the clinician will attach it to your new dental implants. This process takes only a short time, and immediately after the fitting, you’ll see your brand-new smile for the first time!

Afterward, you’ll be ready to go home for the day. You will receive the first of two gift bags (the second is given when you receive your definitive prosthesis) containing all the items you need to look after your new teeth and rest following the day’s procedure—this includes a toothbrush, specialized mouthwash and toothpaste, care instructions, and even a blanket to help you relax.

PMMA, is a medical-grade polymer that is well-suited for prosthesis work because of its particular characteristics.  These include:

  • Transparent, gloss finishes
  • Rigidity and dimensional stability
  • Hardness and resistance to scratching

All of these qualities make it perfect for medical and dental applications, including dental implant prostheses.
